17-year-old mainland Chinese teen’s sadistic abuse of cats exposed, banker parents criticised for repeatedly adopting pets for cruelty. Mom Liu Ya assisted in purchasing and adopting cats and disposing of the bodies of abused and killed cats (discarded randomly in residential areas or at the entrance of stores). Liu Yi tortured and killed them and shot videos to post on the Internet to show off. Despite of community volunteers came to intervene, Liu Yi continued to called the shelters and asked to adopt cats. Liu Ya sent the volunteers away on the pretext that her son might have mania. After exposed on Weibo, Liu's family were suspected to pay Weibo to censor all relevant posts.

Public opinion not only condemned the cold-heartedness of the underage teenager but also directed criticism towards his parents, who hold high-ranking positions in the banking sector. Netizens left comments on the official microblogs of the banks, namely Bank of Communications and Agricultural Bank of China, accusing the couple of condoning their son’s heinous actions and intentionally adopting pets for him to abuse. In response, Traffic Bank stated that they were aware of the issue and currently investigating the matter.

"1. A few days ago, Mr. Wang, a community resident, picked up a dying two-month-old milk cat in the trash can of the community, and sent it to a nearby pet hospital for treatment.

2. According to the medical records of the pet hospital, the son of a bank executive surnamed Liu in the community took the kitten to see a doctor many times (the suspected kitten owner).

4. Another resident of the community recalled that he once gave a Maine Coon cat to a family surnamed Liu. In order to fear that the kitten would be abused, he and Mr. Wang came to the door to get the kitten back.

5. When the two parties disputed the theory, Ms. Liu, an executive surnamed, admitted that the adopted Maine Coon cat had already died and cremated.

6. What made people even more angry was that executive Liu then took out a kitten whose scalp had been stripped off in half, saying that it would be used to compensate the residents for adoption, and admitted that it was a good deed done by his son.
