Partnership University cAMPAIGN

SHARE THIS:

Do you know? An alarming number of cat abusers identified are students in schools and universities in China.

Do you know? Numerous Chinese universities collaborate with institutions worldwide.

We seek your assistance in reaching out to their partner universities globally for help. Inform these partner institutions about the cat abusers. Inquire about the potential for initiating discussions with their affiliated Chinese university to take action against the abusers.

Current Action

Inform the partnering universities of the Central South University about abuser Zhong Aicheng. Kindly ask their help to raise this issue through any formal channels of communication with their peer in China

Step 1: Look for universities that partner with Central South University in China.

Suggested: Google search "Central South University China partners or exchange programmes"

Step 2: Search appropriate contacts of the partnering universities.

Suggested: Google the email contacts of International Program Office or Administrators, Student Unions, etc.

Step 4: Modify highlighted sections of the template letter (attach below) to address the recipient universities accurately.

Step 5: Amend, delete, or add anything deemed appropriate at your convenience.

Template Letter to International Program Office or Administrator

Dear………….

I am contacting you relating to your relationship with Central South University in China, as noted on your website [insert link].

My reason for writing is that you may not be aware that despite many requests, Central South University has not taken action against its student who has been identified as a person grotesquely torturing cats a month ago.

The cat torturer is named Zhong Aicheng 钟艾程, who was lately found to be a member of a cat abuse group consisting of approximately fifty to sixty members, predominantly students from nearby universities.

Torturing cats is developing into a disturbing past-time in China, often carried out by children, students as well as adults. There are groups on the dark web/Telegram who carry out the torture to order for money and for perverted sexual satisfaction. The ultimate aim is to prolong the cat’s agony for as long as possible and subject it to the most innovative and horrific suffering the participants can think of.

There is growing outrage around the world and action is ongoing to bring this to the public’s attention (see links attached in the end of the e-mail). As we have so little influence on China’s internal affairs we are now contacting organisations who are involved with China and who may be able to raise this with their relevant counterparts in China.

We are hoping that now you are aware of what is happening and what the student at Nanjing has done, you will raise it with your contact at that University so that at least they realise that knowledge of their failure to hold this man to account for his actions, is spreading.

On the face of it you might question why there is this outcry about a few cats being tortured, after all, abuse happens everywhere. The point is that there is no legislation in China to enable the police to take action against these torture gangs, even if they were inclined to do so. What is happening is abhorrent at all levels. Animals are sentient beings, the methods of torture are truly stomach churning and this also impacts on the mental health of children, young people, adults and society as a whole. It is also spreading around the globe with a terror group in Turkey having been recently arrested who were basing their activities on the Chinese “model”.

Animal abuse has no place in a supposedly civilised society, added to which it has been proven through many studies that most murderers and sadists start with animals and then progress to humans. So this is much greater than the torturing to death of a few cats in a far flung place.

You have the power to act and raise this with Nanjing University. That is why I am sending you this e-mail and asking for your help in making Nanjing aware that the behaviour of one of their students and their unwillingness to take action against him is becoming known and is unacceptable.

Thank you for any assistance you can give in relation to this matter.

Template Letter to Student Union

Hi,

I am reaching out to ask for your help with two issues; they are related. We are contacting the Student Unions at a few Universities as the idea came following a contact we had from a Student Union at one of the Universities in Mexico who became aware of our campaign and wanted to know how they could help. We believe university students can play an important role in the cause of animal anti-cruelty.

The topic is the rapidly increasing trend in China to torture cats on the internet for money/sexual gratification, mainly on the dark web or Telegram. China has no animal protection legislation so the police, even if they wanted to, are not able to act and the abusers have free reign. The torturers get more money if they prolong the agony of the cats and people in the group think up more and more horrific ways to carry out the torture. I will not go into more detail but this link to a petition set up by the American animal activist organisation Lady Freethinker gives more information but please be aware, it is graphic and disturbing. https://ladyfreethinker.org/sign-justice-for-cats-tortured-and-dismembered-for-online-views/

What has made us write to your University is because one of these cat torturers is at Central South University (Changsha City, Hunan, China), which is one of your partner Universities. We have contacted Central South University who have not taken any action despite overwhelming evidence, see this link for information, the page can be translated into English https://weibo.com/7601520156/OaCaG7Hui

What we are asking you for is firstly if you could raise this through any formal channels of communication with officials at your University. We are aware that they can’t influence what happens at Changsha but by raising it with them, Changsha will realise that this is becoming known, as is their lack of action against this student. China hates to be seen in a bad light and this is the only thing we can do from here.

The other request is that you could make students at the University aware and maybe get their support to raise awareness of this issue.

It is also spreading around the globe with a cat torture group in Turkey having been recently arrested who were basing their activities on the Chinese “model”.

Animal abuse has no place in a supposedly civilised society, added to which it has been proven through many studies that most murderers and sadists start with animals and then progress to humans. So this is much greater than the torturing to death of a few unfortunate cats in a far flung place.

So that you can see how global this action is please see this link https://www.felineguardians.org/ People are holding demonstrations, there are a number of petitions and many are doing what I am doing here today. Thank you for any help you can give us in this matter.

If you would like to stay informed about this situation I can give you a few Instagram and Twitter handles to follow and that way you can see any tweet demos taking place, petitions, demonstrations in different countries and also the events in China itself. There are many animal activists in China who are as horrified and upset as we are and who risk their personal safety to make what is happening there known to the outside world.
